Embedded Signup

Connect a customer's WhatsApp Business Account and phone number in one flow, without leaving your app.

Embedded Signup is Meta's hosted flow for connecting a WhatsApp Business Account. The customer stays in a popup, authenticates with Facebook, picks or creates a WABA and a phone number, and verifies it. Sendport exchanges the returned code, reads the account from the Graph API and registers the webhook — there is nothing to configure by hand.

  1. 1

    Launch the flow

From the dashboard, or embed the button in your own app with the JS snippet below. Meta's popup handles Facebook login, business verification prompts and number verification.

  2. 2

    Meta returns a code

On success the popup posts back a short-lived authorization code plus the selected waba_id and phone_number_id.

  3. 3

    Sendport finishes the wiring

We exchange the code for a system user token, subscribe the app to the WABA, register the phone number for Cloud API, and point webhooks at our ingest.

  4. 4

    You send

The number appears in list phone numbers with status: CONNECTED, and your existing API key works against it immediately.

What the customer needs

  • A Facebook account with admin rights on a Meta Business Portfolio.
  • A phone number that can receive an SMS or voice call, and that is not currently registered on the WhatsApp consumer or Business app. Deregister it first, or the flow fails at verification.
  • A display name that meets Meta's naming policy — it is reviewed, and a rejection blocks sending.

Business verification gates volume, not launch

An unverified business can send to a small number of unique contacts while verification is pending. Verification typically clears in a few days and lifts the number to the standard tier ladder.
